Larry L Zion of Texas City, TX passed away on Friday January 4, 2013 at Mainland Center Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on April 26, 1950 in Enid, OK to Roy B Zion and Anna L Patten Zion.
 
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna L Patten Zion; father, Roy B Zion; brother, William R Zion; nephew, William B Higgins; as well as two great-nephews and all of his aunts & uncles.
He is survived by his sister, Susan Baldwin and husband, Patrick; long time companion, Julia Ryan Cooper, her son Billy Cooper and her 3 grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
 
 
Larry was retired from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 132 La Marque, TX, after 30 years of service. He was also proud to be a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
 
Larry’s legacy is one of family, hard work, generosity, benevolence, and without question…fun. He enjoyed family gatherings, shooting pool, traveling, and his beloved pets.

Viewing and visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM with funeral services immediately following from 3:00 - 4:00 PM at Carnes Funeral Home with Pastor David Brinkley officiating.
