Kennedy Grace Cooper

Kennedy Cooper

Kennedy Grace Cooper, beloved daughter of Jennifer and Mark Cooper of Dickinson, slipped away in her sleep on Nov. 1, 2014. Born May 6, 2013, Kennedy was diagnosed with Trisomy 9 Mosaicism, a rare chromosomal disorder that eventually took her life.

Although her nearly 18 months here were filled with a grueling regimen of medical appointments, surgeries, and therapies, she was a sweet, happy girl who adored her mom and dad, her home, her large family, her puppy brothers, her light-up wands, and balloons.  She was our warrior princess, so fragile, yet so tough as she bravely battled one health challenge after another.

We will forever be grateful for the multitude of Kennedy supporters, many of whom signed on for prayer duty even before she was born and who faithfully continue to lift her and her family up even now.  Kennedy proved "there is no footprint too small to leave an imprint on this world."

Baptized at First Lutheran Church in Galveston on January 5, 2014, Kennedy was greeted in Heaven by great-grandmothers Jimmie Taylor and Maxine Baccinelli, and great-grandfathers Joe Gutierrez and Hugh Cooper. In addition to her mommy and daddy, Kennedy is survived by Papa and Gigi (Kenny and Diane Chide of Galveston), and Pops and Nana (Cary and Nancy Cooper of Texas City); Aunt Honey (Heather Chide of Galveston); aunt and uncle, Annie and Matt Cooper of Dickinson; cousin, Cayleigh Faith Cooper of Dickinson; great-grandparents, Mimi (Vera Gutierrez of Galveston), Great Papa and Memaw (Leo and Carolyn Chide of LaMarque), Grandmother (Sarah Cooper of Tyler), and Grandaddy (Everett Taylor of Tyler); and a multitude of other family members and friends. The family wishes to pay a heartfelt tribute to all the medical providers who took such special care of our little princess.

Visitation will be 5 - 7 PM Thursday at Carnes Funeral Home, Texas City, with funeral services to follow there at 10 AM Friday. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson.
A fund for Kennedy is set up through in the name Princess Kennedy Grace.
