June Helen Frisbey
June Helen Frisbey, 92, affectionately called June-bug, Junie, and sweetie by the love of her life and husband, Jack Frisbey, and known as Mimi to everyone else – friend to all, grandmother and great-grandmother of many, mother of four, and wife to one, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2014.
Born Monday, August 7, 1922, at her parents’ home in Riceville, Iowa to the late Earl and Helen Jay, she grew up with her two sisters, Gladys and Darlene, and graduated from North High School in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a beloved pastor’s wife and served the Lord until the very end.
Survivors include the love of her life and husband, Jack Russell Frisbey, children, Jack and his wife, Alex Frisbey, Mike and his wife, Paula Frisbey, Melissa Crawford, and David and his wife, Randy Frisbey; grandchildren, April Crawford and her husband, Kelby Roberts, David and his wife, Nicole Frisbey, Rachael and her husband, Daryl Godfrey, Josh and his wife, Chantal Frisbey, and Meagan, Michelle, Jay, and Brett Frisbey; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, and Ava Roberts, Isabella Godfrey, and Victoria and Chad Frisbey.
A celebration of life for June Frisbey will occur on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Carnes Funeral Home. The viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., the funeral service will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., the graveside service will be from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the reception will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Algoa.
