Judy Harvell
Judy Elaine Blackston Harvell, of Houston, went home to be with The Lord Monday morning, July 14, 2014.  She was born on January 29, 1944 in Porter, Alabama, to Curtis & Bertha Mae (Hicks) Blackston.  She worked in the Oil & Gas Insurance industry after moving to Texas in 1977.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Blackston; and sisters, Melba Blackston Piper and Dorothy Blackston Bradley.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Harvell Wilson of Houston; grandsons, Lester Donald Wilson, Joshua Lee and wife, Rabia, Wilson, and Joseph Curtis Wilson, all of Houston; sisters, Margie Metcalf, Curtis Ann Warren, Lottie Jewell, and Linda and husband, Danny, Meadows, all of Alabama; plus numerous nieces and nephews; also by her Ex- husband Don Harvell and, “special daughter and grandsons” Marci Maggie Beasley of Lexington  and Matthew and Stephen Rasco of Lexington and Michael Wayne Rasco of Taylor.  The family would like to acknowledge cousin, Anita Yeatts, for her immense actions of love and comfort during this time..

Judy was a recipient of a life sustaining kidney transplant in May of 2002.  The family would like to accredit the work of the medical staff and personnel to Judy being able to remain with them for many more years.
 
A memorial service will be held on August 1st, 2014 at Woodland Trails Baptist Church at 9615 N. Houston-Rosslyn  Houston, Texas  77040.  Bro. Jerry Smith will be presiding.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
 
There will be a small reception to follow in the fellowship hall after the service.
