Joseph John Scott
Joseph John Scott, known as “Joe” to some and other as “Bo”, was the youngest of five children born on January 11, 1955 to the late Adam and Marilyn Scott. Joseph’s life began in Galveston; whereas later he and his family moved to Hitchcock, but he continued his education in Galveston.
Joseph graduated from Ball High in 1973, where he was a member of the band as a gifted trumpet player. During his spare time, he enjoyed music, watching old westerns, Judge Judy and sports of all types, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was a charter member of the band “Down to Earth” as a trumpet player throughout the seventies an early eighties.
He was employed at the Port of Galveston, Sears, McDonald’s, and Hitchcock ISD as a bus driver. Bo also would DJ for private parties and wedding receptions until his health failed.
He is preceded in death by his father Adam, mother Marilyn, two sisters; Gwendolyn and Darnell, and a son, Mathan Scott I.
Joseph departed his earthly life on October 2nd and leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Gertrude; two sons, Clyde Scot I (Joeva) and Brandon Scott I; eight grandchildren, Britney, Shanise’, Clyde II, Courtney, Brianna, Makeli, Brandon II and Mathan II. Three great-grandchildren, Journey, Jhaise and Kingston; Sister, Gloria McClinton (Nolden), and Brother, Eugene Scott. Guests are invited to share in Joseph’s Viewing and Visitation on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 322 Laurel Street , Lamarque, Texas 77568 at 9:00 AM. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Hayes-Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
