Chief Petty Officer Joseph D. Boyd (Retired) “JD”, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018.  Joe’s life demonstrated his love of God and country through his dedication and exemplary service in the U.S. Navy.  He served his local community as a Police Officer with the Spring ISD and was recently honored for 10 years of service.  JD was known for his unending support.  He was always there to lend a helping hand.  He was the consummate mentor, always looking for the ‘diamond-in-the-rough’ that he could begin to polish.  He will never be forgotten…

 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Delma Rae Johnson-Boyd, his youngest brother, James D. Boyd, and his son Daniel E. Dyson.  He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Dyson-Boyd, his father Billie Joe Boyd, his sister Deana Rae Boyd-Dutton and her husband Melvin Dutton and their son Matthew Dutton, his brother Gerald D. Boyd and his wife Stacy D. Evans-Boyd and their children Joseph Alexander Boyd, Raymond Gabriel Boyd and Michaela Rae Boyd, his brother Jeffrey D. Boyd and his wife Alba Boyd and their children, Joshua Boyd and Natasha Boyd-Hall, his brother Jonathan D. Boyd and his wife Sonya West-Boyd and their children Jonathan Boyd, Steven Boyd, Jesse Boyd and Caleb Boyd, Joe’s children, Kelli Boyd-Acker and her husband Tom Acker and their children McKayla Rae Acker and Alexander Forbes Acker, Melisa Boyd-Naquin and her husband Donald Naquin, and their children Kaleb Joseph Boyd and Kaitlyn Marie Phillips, Richard Dyson and his daughter Rikki, Tiffany Dyson and her son Nigel Dyson, Shaun Dyson, and his children Nick Dyson, William Dyson, and Kristopher Dyson, Heather Dyson and her husband Riswan Ali and their children Esther Ali and Anna Ali, Tamara Dyson-Sayeh and her husband Luke Sayeh, Christopher Dyson and his daughter Christian Dyson, Philip Dyson, David Michael Dyson and his wife Crystal and their children John Michael Dyson and Chloe Dyson and numerous other family members.

 

Family visitation will be at Lakeway Baptist church, 5801 FM 1960, Humble, TX 77346Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM.  A memorial service will be held at Lakeway Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, Officiated by Pastors David Stone and Kenneth Preston.  It was Joe’s wish to be buried at sea which will occur at a later date.
