John Wesley Lewis 3rd, Born in Loeb, Texas on 09/11/1942 died in Kirbyville,Texas on 02/26/2018.
John was a class of 1960 graduate of Orangefield. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. John made his living as an Automatic Transmission R & R Man. He was an avid lover of Harley Davidson motorcycles. John was loved by many as he never met a stranger.
John donated his body to the Willed Body Program at the University of Texas in Houston. To be used for Research Science. In hopes that someday maybe he could be instrumental in finding cures for cancer and a host of other illnesses. It was truly an awesome way for him to possibly help future generations to come.
John was proceeded in death by his loving parents John Lewis Jr. and Elbie Ferguson Lewis, a son Bill Hollingsworth, a grandson Devin Phillip Lewis, and the love of his life Shirley Lewis Nordstand.
John is survived by his wife Delaine of Ragley, La. A brother Gerald Wayne Lewis of Jasper, Tx. A sister Linda Fraizer and husband Charles also of Jasper, Texas. Sons Charles Hollingsworth of San Leon, Tx., Bobby Hollingsworth of Selmer, Tenn., Jerry Lewis and wife Nancy of Silsbee, Tx. and Wesley Lewis and wife Koleen of Ragley, La. Two daughters Lisa Lewis of Kirbyville, Tx. and Ava Lewis of Lomax, Tx. John was a beloved Papaw to 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and 1 on the way.
His children would like to Thank the residents and staff of Silsbee Oaks and Avalon Nursing Homes for their care, love, and friendships. As well as Kindred Hospice of Jasper, Texas for helping make Our Daddy's journey as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
