John Wayman Anderson
John Wayman Anderson was born Oct 3,1951, the youngest of 6 children. He was born to Lucinda Woodson Anderson & William Freeman Eugene Anderson. John was born in St. Louis, Missouri where he attended and graduated from the public school system. He joined the U.S. Army after attending Forest Park Junior College. During his life time he was blessed to father four children: Brian Anderson & Kimberly (Keenan) Phillips and their mother, Brenda Davis; Christopher Anderson & Jessica Anderson and their mother, Cassandra Anderson. He later met and married Christene Andrews in the state of Alaska and they remained happily married until his passing. They traveled around the world and they enjoyed the outdoors. John as an avid outdoorsman and was very proud of his electronic airplanes, boats and cars.
He was employed by BASF Chemical Company.
On Feb 18, 2013 John was called to the ultimate outdoors excursion. He is survived by his wife and soulmate Christene; his wonderful sisters, Linda Brandon of Diamond Bar CA and Ernestine Anderson of St. Louis, MO. His children; six grandchildren, Meah, Nylah, Ellison, Christina, Brianna, Andre, Jr.; his extended family, children, Crystal T. Cohen and Tracie D. Haynes. John is loved and remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, friends & relatives.
There will be a Public Quiet Hour from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 23, 2013 followed by A Service of Remembrance at 11:00 AM. The service will be officiated by Reverend Jerry B Lee, pastor of Greater Bell Zion Baptist Church. Both services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX 77591.
Burial will follow in the Houston National Cemetery Houston, TX.
