John Warren Brown

John Brown

John Warren Brown, 86 years old, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on December 25th 2019 at his home.  He was the widower of Dorothy Mae Brown.  They shared 50 years of marriage together.  Born in Welsh, Louisiana, he was the son of David Brown Sr and Cornellia Keys Brown. 

John Brown moved his young family from Louisiana to Galveston County many years ago.  He worked at Brown and Root until his retirement.

He was a member of Straightway Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City, Tx where he served as a Deacon and sang in the Male Chorus.  He enjoyed fishing, watching sports on television, and visiting with his grandchildren.  He will be remembered for his services in the United States Army, being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his numerous recollections/conversations of stories from long ago

He is survived by children: Kelvin Brown, Ken Brown (Gwen), Queenetta Fails (Frank), and Venessa Smith (deceased Theodore); Special Nieces: Christina Williams (Corey), Sherry Brown, grandchildren: Kevin Turner, Quincy McCutcheon, Maurice Smith (Denise), Austin Fails, Marshall Fails; great grandchildren: Michael Smith, Ava Smith, and; Keegan Smith; Special great nieces and nephews Corey Williams Jr, Corynn Williams, Raylnn Brown, Camryn Villanueva, Aydyn Villanueva; and a host of nieces, nephews, his Straightway Missionary Baptist Church Family, and other beloved family members and friends.  He is predeceased by his son Stanley Ray Brown, two sisters: Ruby Nelle Brown and Mildred Brown-Zeno, and two brothers: Alfred Brown and David Brown Jr.

The visitation service will be held at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Tx 77591 on January 3rd 2020 from 11:00 – 1:00pm; and funeral service immediately following from 1:00 – 2:30pm.  The interment at Hayes Grace Memorial Park 10708 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, Tx 77563.
