John Serrano, 83, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 2015. John was born on March 3, 1932, in Manhattan, New York, to Juan and Vidalina Serrano. He has one sister, Rose A. Monteiro, one niece, Maria, and three nephews, Fernando, Juan and Frank.
John married Lydia E. Serrano on January 10, 1970 in Puerto Rico and has two daughters and four grandchildren: daughter, Isabel Serrano and granddaughters Bianca Fonseca and Claudia Rubio of Houston; daughter, Esther Serrano, son-in-law Dagoberto Ramos and grandsons Ruben Rodriguez and Miguel Ramos of Texas City.
John worked as a refrigeration mechanic at UTMB from the time he moved to Texas in 1982 until he retired.
John lived a full life and everyone who knew him will remember his contagious smile and resounding laugh. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will always be remembered.
The family would like to give special thanks to Isabel Montalvo, sister-in-law; cousins Efrain Serrano and Ted Rodriguez and their families; and friends Juan and Nilda Jimenez for their support during this difficult time.

Visitation with family and memorial service will be held on Friday, December 18th from 5pm to 8pm. Service will begin at 7pm at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas.
