John Frank White, Jr.
John Frank White, Jr. passed from this life on the evening of April 6, 2015 with his family at his side after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born November 19, 1942 to John and Lucy Mae White in Baytown, Texas; graduated from Crosby High School; attended Hardin-Simmons University; and resided for most of his adult life in Deer Park, Texas. For the past several years he lived with his family in Galveston, Texas.
Even though he did not get his final wish to have a large meal surrounded by family and laughter, then die peacefully in his sleep; he would want all of those surviving him to have that meal, perhaps with a large slice of “mom’s” coconut meringue pie, and laugh, and reminisce about the good times.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, J. Louise White, son John F. White III, daughter Pamela A. Patteson, brother Michael E. White, aunt Emma White, aunt Margaret Mullins and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and long-lived friends.
As a final gesture of giving, he willed his body to the University of Texas Medical School in Houston and would wish that any memorial gifts be sent in his memory to Libbie’s Place, 5402 Avenue U, Galveston, Texas 77551.
