Jody Ray Augustine
Jody Ray Augustine, 54, of League City, Texas passed away September 28, 2019.
He was born on June 3, 1965 in McKinney, Texas to Roy and Connie Augustine. Jody grew up in Texas, Arizona, and Louisiana, graduating from Menard High School in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1983. He went on to receive a BS in Mechanical Engineering from (then) University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1988, followed by an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1990. He worked in the aerospace and oil industries in Houston for McDonnell Douglas, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Marathon, and Boeing. He was published in several professional journals in addition to receiving several patents.
In his spare time, Jody enjoyed skeet shooting and motorcycle riding. He was famous for his crawfish boils, enjoyed by family and friends. Jody married Lorri Lee in 1993 and they have two sons: Justin, a recent graduate of West Point and now a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army, and Andrew, a senior at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, preparing for dental school.
Jody was preceded in death by his sister Joni Lynn Augustine, grandparents Frank and Ena Augustine, and Walter and Vera Cox.
In addition to his parents, wife, and sons, Jody is survived by his sister Renee Mathis of Houston, brother Alan Augustine of Alexandria, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be welcoming friends at their home Friday, October 4, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
