Janie Campos Garcia
Janie Garcia, 97, of Texas City, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2018, surrounded by adoring family. She was blessed with a long and healthy life and family and friends who loved her dearly.
Mrs. Garcia was born in Elkhart, TX on March 8, 1920. A resident of Texas City since 1944, she was an active member of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court 1855.
She is preceded in death by parents, Julio and Luisa Campos; brothers, Steve, Tony, Jesus and Jose Campos; sister, Maria Rios, husband, Mario Garcia, and children Renée Adame and Mark Garcia.
She is survived by children, Charlie Garcia, Pam Villarreal, and Bea Granniss, and grandchildren, Allyson Adame, Steve Villarreal, Jeb Adame, Jeff Villarreal, Kristopher Rehm, Jennifer LaForge, Danielle Adame-Lopez, and Monica Adame-Avant, as well as great-grandchildren, Cameron Villarreal, Tori Villarreal, Jaxton Glancy, Aidan Villarreal, Evelyn Adame, Janie Adame, Chloé Lopez, Nova Adame, Erik Avant, Pierce Lopez, and Emerson LaForge.
Mrs. Garcia had a loving and generous nature that left a lasting impression on all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her devotion to her family, and to God, were an inspiration to us all. While she faced challenges in her life, she drew tremendous strength from her unyielding faith.
She will be dearly missed. We lift her up in love and look forward to reuniting with her in Heaven.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 9th at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church - Texas City, TX with Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery - Dickinson, TX.
