James R. Fairchild
James Robert Fairchild, born September 23, 1959 in Leonardtown MD to Lorraine (Kotowski) and John James Fairchild, passed away on September 9, 2013 in Houston TX after a short illness.
He leaves behind his wife of almost 25 years, Yvette (Kelley); daughter, Caitlin; son, Charles; brothers, John and Sam; niece, Courtney and her husband Chris Durham; great-niece, Abigail; numerous relatives and in-laws; and many many friends and former coworkers.
Jimmy graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School in 1978 and attended San Jacinto College studying fine art before beginning his career as a graphic artist. He worked for over 30 years as a master doodler, first for TTC Trammell Co and then at NASA/JSC for Lockheed Martin and Jacobs. His most recent favorite accomplishment was his design of the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer logo - the largest visible logo on the International Space Station. Jimmy loved all things history and space, and his family.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10am at St Francis Cabrini Catholic Parish, 10727 Hartsook St, Houston TX 77034. The family requests no flowers, but to think of Jimmy the next time you travel somewhere and pick up a rock from there in his memory.
