James Arthur Briscoe, 75, affectionally known as “Pappy,” of Houston Tx passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at his home in Houston, TX with his loving wife of 51 years. 
Visitation will be 6-8pm Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 at Carnes Funeral Home, 1102 Indiana St, Houston, TX 77587.  
Burial Service will be 1:15 Thursday, October 3rd, 2019  (Gate/Site TBD) at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
Following Pappy’s long time tradition of Friday Night Karaoke, his family invites any and all touched by him to come and celebrate his life from 7-11pm, Friday, October 4th, 2019 at Live Oak Grill, 10444 Hempstead Road, Houston, TX 77092.
Pappy was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Trudy and Robert Briscoe on April 14, 1944. He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Catholic HS, class of 1962, in Houston TX. He married Betty Jo Bond on December 13th, 1968, in Texas City, TX.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War Era and served in the United States Air Force.  He was a loving husband, incredible father and doting grandfather.  Beloved uncle and friend to all that he would come into contact with.  As a former coach he loved to follow sports. Also, he was a passionate musician who actively enjoyed performing karaoke regularly.  
Pappy is preceded in death by Robert Briscoe, (Father); Ellsworth French, (step father);  Bobby Briscoe, (eldest sibling); and Trudy French, (Mother). 
Pappy is survived by Betty Briscoe, (Wife); Stacey and Kimberly Briscoe, (eldest son and wife);  James Briscoe, (middle son); Christopher and Annalisa Briscoe, (youngest son and wife); Matt Steffen, (honorary 4th son); Linda and Pat Caraway, (younger sister and husband); Rusty, Ashley, CJ, Xabi, Thiago and Keagan Briscoe, (grandchildren); and three great-grand daughters and many loving nieces and nephews. Along with his family listed Pappy is also survived by all those that had the chance to cross his path as no-one was ever a stranger to him.
Memorials may be given to the PTSD Foundation of America/Camp Hope in Pappy’s name.  Please see Stacey or James Briscoe for more information.
