Jaclyn Lee Kingery
Jaclyn Lee Kingery was born in Chicago, Illinois, March 27, 1950, to Norman and Leola (Fetty) Brauer. Jackie passed away in her League City, Texas home on Friday, August 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Norman and Lee.
Jackie is survived by son Dan Kingery of League City, Texas; son Bill Kingery of Bacliff, Texas; daughter Karen Holt, of Bacliff, Texas; grandchildren Evan Holt, Jake Holt, Skyyler Kingery, and Allison Kingery. Jackie is also survived by her sister, Diane Box of League City, Texas; and beloved nieces and cousins.
Jackie graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She worked many years in new home sales, and with custom homebuilders in Friendswood and Houston, Texas. Most recently, she enjoyed great success in the business support office of NASA Exchange. She had a reputation for great attention to detail and accuracy. Her “work family” was very supportive of her as she continued to work and fight her illness.
Our mom led a fulfilled life. She loved fast cars and faster computers, but always tried to make time to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Music was a lifelong passion, reflected by the fact that many comments she overheard would immediately transform into song lyrics. Her work was a daily focus, but her family was her life’s priority; she sacrificed everything to give her children the best possible future. She was a hard rock Grandma with the sweetest hugs and kisses, and will be dearly missed.
A visitiation is scheduled for for Sunday afternoon, August 28, 2016 at 2pm followed by a memorial service at 4pm at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City.
