Jack Ward Moore

Jack Moore

Jack Ward Moore, 90, was called home by his heavenly Father on April 22, 2015.  As in life, he left us with dignity and humility, at home with family and friends.  He leaves an amazing legacy to his survivors which we will strive to live by each and every day.  Wife of 58 years, Joan Dusenberry Moore; daughter Debbie Moore Wallace and her husband Marvin Wallace, daughter Barbara Moore McLendon and son Scott Moore.  His five grandchildren will remember their Grampsie for his genuine interest in their lives, his compassion for them and his quiet, calm demeanor.  Cole Moore and wife Kelsi, Meredith and Brady Wallace, and Meagan and Katie McLendon.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Lewie and Theodosia Moore, his sister Leslie Harden, and his son-in-law Michael McLendon.  He is also survived by an extended family by marriage, his church family and an amazing group of life long friends.

Jack was a native Galvestonian and a graduate of Ball High School and Texas A&M University ‘46.  He served his country in WWII with honor as a member of the US Army.  He worked in the Human Resources field for many years with Todd Shipyards and eventually started his own successful personnel relations company; Jack W. Moore and Associates Management Consultants.

Always an advocate for education and research, Jack unselfishly donated his remains to Baylor College of Medicine.  An internment will take place at a later date in the family cemetery in Centerpoint, Texas.  Never wanting any fan fare, Jack’s family will go against his wishes and celebrate his life at a memorial service Friday, May 1st beginning at 2:00 at Sunset United Methodist Church, 709 Allendale Rd, Pasadena, Texas  77502.
