Inez Marie Foster

Inez Foster

Inez Marie Foster was born in Mena, Arkansas on Thursday, October 11, 1945. She passed away Friday May 20, 2016 at the age of seventy in Texas City, Texas after a courageous thirty-four year war against cancer.  She won many battles against cancer with a strong desire and will to remain with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Inez was a loving mother and wife who never met a stranger. She was born and raised in the hills of Mena Arkansas. Her father was a farmer and her mother tended to the children as he worked the fields. As a child she knew too well what it was like to do without. And for most of her earthly life would have been considered materially poor until Lee came into her life.  All those who met her or knew her know that she was one of the richest women spiritually and her family was always amazed to watch as God provided every need in his perfect timing. She had great faith and great joy.

She always welcomed anyone and everyone to share her humble bounty and God made sure there was always enough. We always had someone lonely or down on their luck attend our family thanksgiving dinner as Inez made sure to share God’s blessings with those who had less. She was happier to give than to have. She had a green thumb and could grow anything from just sticking a cutting in the ground.

She always attended every event for her kids, grand kids and great grandson. Her family and seeding joy and love into their lives were one of her true passions. She always attended church, as a child, and as a mother she took her children to church three times a week throughout their childhood.

She was a single mother for most of motherhood, she raised three

children with no assistance other than what God blessed her with and was a proud woman who did not take government assistance and choose to work, at times up to three jobs, to support her family.

She was a great Girl Scout leader for both of her daughters and spent time all her free time with her children.

She worked as a cashier most of her adult life and was fortunate to own her own store for a few years.

Inez touched many lives during her earthly time. She was loved by all who knew her and is greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ardie Lee Lance; sister, Carolyn Wehba, and brother, Myron Lance.

She is survived by her loving  husband Lee Theiler; children, Linda Foster, Shanna Fernandisse, and William ‘Bill’ Foster; step daughter, Annette Theiler; son-in-law, Anthony Fernandisse; granddaughters, Kimberly Foster, Destiny Fernandisse, Alyssa Saldana, Angelle Saldana, Gisselle Trevino; great-grandson, Raymond Burnett; sister, Marilyn Krepps and husband Marvin, and Susan Lance; brother in law, John Wehba; nieces, Yvonne Powers, Melissa Krepps; nephews, Paul Wehba, Matt Krepps; great-nieces, Meagan Powers, Taylor  Kreps, and great- nephew, Tyler Powers.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked friends and family to please help honor Inez’s legacy with a donation to the National Cancer Society.
