Howard Bruce Wearstler
Howard Bruce “HB” Wearstler, age 68, passed away suddenly at LBJ General Hospital in Houston, TX. He went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2017.
Howard was born July 9, 1949 in Akron, Ohio to Harold and Marylou (Hartness) Wearstler. He grew up with his family in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. He was a 1968 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and then enlisted into the United States Air Force in January of 1969. After his honorable discharge in February of 1973, he went on to work in the transportation industry most of his life as a truck driver and delivering cars for area dealerships.
For the past 30 years he has lived in the Houston, TX area. He survived many hardships throughout his life. He tried to do the best he could. He believed in God and Christ and the Holy Spirit. HB was an avid fan of stockcar racing, and spent many weekends at the speedway tracks in and around Houston. Recently, he was blessed to be a part of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church that help provide him with a place to live. HB will be missed, but God has welcomed him home. May God's Peace and Comfort be with all who knew him.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Maylou Wearstler. Howard is survived by a stepson, Timothy James Ferrier of Porter, Texas; brothers, Ralph (Terri) Wearstler, Mark (Cathy) Wearstler; sister, Gail (Robert) McConville; and many nieces and nephews, all living in Ohio.
A service with military honors will be held at Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038) at August 9, 2017 at 10:15 a.m and officiating the service will be Rev. Elizabeth Grasham, Heights Christian Church.
