Harold William Friedsam, Jr.
Harold “Hal” Friedsam, Jr., 65 of Omega Bay passed away May 30, 2015, at his residence.
The Family will greet visitors starting at 2:00 pm with Memorial Services to follow at 3:00 pm, on Friday, June 12th, 2015 at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City. Honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard.
Hal was born in Albany, Georgia to Harold and Sara Friedsam. The family moved to Galveston, Texas and Hal attended Galveston Schools, soon he was called to serve his country. He completed his tour of Vietnam in the United States Army, he was a true patriot. He loved to BBQ for friends and was known for his brisket and famous ribs. He was a man’s man. He loved the Dallas Cowboys & Nascar.
He was happiest spending time with his four grandchildren, teaching them about the oldies music, The Lone Ranger, and The Andy Griffith Show. “Pawpaw” loved watching Nascar with his grandson and teaching him about muscle cars. He enjoyed fishing from his boat “Paradise” and was a dog lover.
Hal is preceded in death by his parents.
His survivors include his wife, Sylvia; sister, Faith of Texas City; three children, Melissa Haden (Kevin) of the Woodlands, Jason Legate of Washington D.C., and Sara Redmond of Santa Fe; and his grandchildren Ally and Bella Haden of the Woodlands and Joshua and Natalie Redmond of Santa Fe.
