George Wilbert McDonald Jr.
George Wilbert McDonald, Jr. was born April 2, 1931, the sixth of eight children born to George & Priscilla McDonald, Jr. Affectionately known as “Buster”, he graduated from Central High School in Galveston, TX in 1949.
On August 16, 1950 Buster married Totsie Mae Duncan; the lady who would become his wife of 67 years and mother to their seven children. He always said their marriage was “made in Heaven”.
Buster worked for the City of Texas City as a truck driver and retired after 37 years of service. He and Tot raised their family in membership at McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church.
Cherished memories belong to his soulmate and devoted wife Tot; and children Beverly McDonald, and Laverie McDonald Witcher-Wise (Greg) of Houston, TX; George W. McDonald, III (Brenda) of Plano, TX; Marilyn Calloway of Houston, TX; and Robert D. McDonald (Audrey)of Austin, TX.
Grandchildren: Sherrie McDonald, Michelle Calloway, Heather Witcher; all of Houston, TX; and Courtney McDonald, of Columbus, GA. George McDonald, IV of Columbus, GA; Rodney Witcher (Courtney) of San Mateo, CA; Gabriel McDonald of Lewisville, TX; Joseph Martin, DeShawn Jenkins (Tameka), DeQuan Jenkins, Tyrone Jenkins, Dominique Wise, and Dondre Wise all of Houston, TX.
Great-Grands: Imrall Martin, Knyree Martin, Jade Cotton, Jermani McDonald, Paris Simon, and Naavyah Jenkins, Isaiyah Jenkins, and Kamden Simon, and all of Houston, TX; Shaw Henderson Witcher of San Mateo; London and Sincere McDonald, of Columbus, GA; and Gabrielle McDonald of Lewisville, TX.
George “Buster” McDonald was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; daughter, Sandra Ann McDonald and son, the Reverend Johnnie Ray McDonald. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, his church family and friends and most of all “the flower girl for their wedding”, neice Paula Tatum.To the McDonald Family and Friends,
Guests are invited to share in a Celebration of Life Visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 18, 2017 with 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services to follow at McKinney Memorial United Methodist Church, 1607 Nashby Street, La Marque, TX 77591 with Reverend Carlos R. Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
