Florence Ruth Turner-Morgan-Herrmann

Florence Turner-Morgan-Herrmann

Florence Ruth Turner (Morgan) Herrmann, started making friends when she peeked into this Universe on January 26, 1940, in Beaumont, TX. Shirley Virgil and Rose (Tortorice) Turner soon moved their daughter and her 3 older brothers; Garland Delbert, Virgil Wilburn and Clifford Frank to the Houston Heights.  She attended Helms Elementary, Hamilton Jr. High and Regan High School. There she met her first love John Wayne Morgan. They married, shared many years together and had a beloved daughter, Shannon Lee Morgan, who remains a Light and Love of their Spirits.  They shared families and friendships – and it certainly took both of them to raise their daughter until his transition to Eternal Life in 1997.

On December 14th, 1973 Florence married Charles Edwin Herrmann. They were soul-mates and best friends.  Everyone knew they were a true spark of Love.  They treasured family, dear friends, hunting, fishing, cards, traveling and business together.  Everything together.  Always. His son; Charles Michael Herrmann, grand daughter Emily, and daughter; Tamela Ann, and Shannon Lee knew they were loved and cherished every minute.  Three months short of celebrating 25 phenomenal years together, Charlie began his Eternal Life in September of 1998.

Florence was probably most known for her flair for style, head turning smile and gorgeous blue eyes, infectious laugh and yes - of course, her (sometimes) inappropriate sense of humor.  Frequent mentions of her include: least judgmental, THE most positive, upbeat, strong, the kindest heart, MOST loving and FUN to be around.  She was The Mom.  Shannon Lee’s friends always treasured and loved The Mom.  She never missed a birthday, celebration, or most any event, and got to know many of them very well. She beamed with pride and gratitude from all the love and support for herself and her daughter throughout many life challenges.

Florence met lifelong “family” friends, and yes worked, at Highland Village State Bank – became First City Bank (and ultimately Chase) for many years.  She started as a bookkeeper, then head bookkeeper and later became an officer.  She and Charlie were entrepreneurs.  They truly enjoyed real estate, furniture, jewelry and lingerie businesses.  When they opened the doors at the then new Trader’s Village, they met many close friends. They worked, laughed, loved and treasured each friendship.

Florence brought sunshine to yoga, Silver Sneakers at the YMCA, shopping for the fun of it, parties with friends, traveling, Haley (her grand dog), The Red Hat Society (Red Hat Fillies) – but most of all, she LOVED the beach, or anywhere where there was water.  She loved DooWop, Motown and Meditation Music. She enjoyed reading the daily meditation book, “A Deep Breath of Life”, and she read Science of Mind Magazines every month for many years.

Florence and Shannon Lee shared a relationship like most have never seen.  The legacy of unconditional Love, compassion, support and constant laughter is indescribable.  All who witnessed it saw The Glow – and The Divine.

On July 22, 2012 Florence became Eternal, with peace and grace, transcending this earth.
