Esther Garcia

Esther Solis Garcia passed away on August 19, 2013 in Omega Bay, Texas. She was born in Galveston, TX on March 8, 1937 to parents, Emiliano and Henrietta Solis. Esther graduated from Ball High School in 1955 and was a member of the Tornettes.

Esther was a devoted homemaker and mother. She enjoyed traveling the world, fishing, boating and gambling. She was a member of HOSTS at Northside and Heights Elementary, a Member of Texas City Seniors and a volunteer with the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center. She was the owner of Egar Inc. and retired from Amoco Oil Company as a payroll specialist.   

Preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Berbel Garcia; daughter, Genevieve Michelle Garcia; father, Emiliano Solis; granddaughter, Tiffany Garcia and grandson. Dustin Garcia.

Esther is survived by sons, Benjamin Garcia Jr. and wife Annie, Gregory Wayne Garcia, and Glen William Garcia and girl friend Lori Herndon; daughter, Barbara Ann Wright and husband Donald; grandchildren, Nicole Athena Flores and husband Roshun, Melanie Friddell and husband Joshua, Kristine Garcia, Ginny Michelle and Christopher Glen Wright; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Renee Kiesling, Cheyenne Michelle Haddix, Joshua, Matthew and Paisley Friddell; mother, Henrietta Solis; sister, Josephine Morales; brother, John Edward Solis and wife Delores. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of friends as well as her pet chihuahua, Taco. 

Pallbearers will be Joe Kainer, Sergio Barcenas, Fred and Ruben Morales, Joe Loera and David Garcia. 

The family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2013 with a 7:00 p.m. Reciting of the Rosary at Carnes Funeral Home – Texas City, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Mary of the Miraculous Metal Catholic Church in Texas City, TX with Fr. Puthumayil as celebrant. The Rite of Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
