Enrique “Ric” Garcia, 65, passed from this life on January 3, 2017 in Texas City, TX. He was born July 24, 1951 in Raymondville, TX to Waldo Garcia and Mamie Quintanilla. He was raised in Santa Monica, TX and has been a resident of Texas City for over forty-five years.
He was a special person to many people. He has been active with the Texas City FFA, Texas City softball teams, and was Chief Cook for Family Tradition. His hobbies included raising cattle, hunting, and cook-off’s. He touched many lives throughout his community and was loved by all that came across his path.
He was preceded in death by his parents Waldo Garcia and Mamie Quintanilla, and his sister Lydia Lopez. Survivors include his sister Lou Carlton and husband Jeff. His children, Enrique “Ric” Garcia II and wife, Heather, Amy Gray and husband, Alan of Texas City. Grandchildren Delisa Garcia, Jasmine and Savannah Gray, Jordan and McKenzie Sweet. Great grandchildren Easton, Tate, and Kinley Sweet and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service held on Saturday January 14, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Fwy, Texas City, TX 77591 with a Celebration of Life to follow at the American Legion, 3028 29th St N, Texas City, TX 77590.
