Elton Ray Young
Elton Ray Young was called home by his Heavenly Father on May 3, 2014 in League City, Texas. Elton was born on October 16, 1924 in Whitewright, TX and is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ora Young, his wife of 42 years, Wynell Young, brothers, Willie and Grady Young, sister, Betty Stem and grandson, Bill Baughman. Elton or E.R. as he was known was a retired Pipefitter from Amoco Oil with 37 years of service.
Elton is survived by two devoted daughters and their families, eldest daughter, Diane Lipsey of Pearland, son-in-law, Benji Lipsey, granddaughter, Dawn Balli, great-granddaughter, Lola Balli, his youngest daughter, Karen Adkins of League City, son-in-law, Paul Adkins, and grandchildren, Trevor, Kiersten and Ty Adkins. He is also survived by a loving son, Alan Young of Houston and his family, grandchildren, Tracy Young, Shawnia Willson, Bobby Young, Brandy Mariera, Alan Jr. and Nathan Young and 12 great-grandchildren. Elton Ray as he was affectionately called is also survived by his sister, Faye Goad, brother, Doyle Young and many nieces and nephews, caring for all as his own.
Visitation will be held at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City on Thursday, May 8thfrom 5-7 p.m. with a Funeral Services on Friday, May 9that 10 a.m. Graveside Services will follow at 4 p.m. in Jacksonville, TX at Providence Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Alan Young, Paul Adkins, Trevor Adkins, Tim Young, Benji Lipsey, Christopher Withers, and Justin Strother.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Young, Brad Young, Tim Moss, Joe Fuentes, Alan Portman, Chris Portman, Tony Young, and Chance Knight
