Ellen Jean Moran
Angels! Fasten your halos and check your rosters... Ellen was checked in on July 18, 2018. Let it be noted that she lived her 81 years with an abundance of laughter and love and was at home, surrounded by family, in her final hours.
It suits her personality: fun-loving, mercurial and zany that Ellen was born in the "Windy City"...exciting Chicago, on October 21,1936 to Eleanor and David McCammon.
She attended St. Henry and St. Scolastica for her primary and secondary education. She, briefly, studied nursing until marrying Robert Leo (Bob) Moran on December 28, 1957, after which, it was off to California! It was while in Van Nuys that Ellen gave birth to the first of three children: Laura Jean---whose beautiful ginger hair Ellen tried to match her entire life! Then following a move to Canoga Park along came a son, Kevin Michael. Two years later a baby sister completed the trio--Bridget Ann.
Ellen and her family settled in Nassau Bay, Texas in1967 to be involved in the space program. She quickly made lifelong friends and enjoyed a busy life.
With Ellen's vibrant spirit, her love of the dramatic, and phenomenal wit she naturally gravitated to the Clear Creek Country Theater which was a conduit for her creative side.
Ellen was an avid reader who was always drawn to nonfictional criminal stories. Interestingly, her work included being a building manager for Mel Powers and an administrative assistant in both the FBI and the Justice Department to a U.S. District Attorney.
Travel was another of her joys. She leaves behind many photos of her trips to Mexico, France, and Ireland where she’s often seen posing in comical scenarios.
Ellen’s relationship to her children was a perfect blend of "Mother", “Friend", and “Counselor"; an embodiment of "Sister" to her sisters and to her sister-in-law, she was "Lucy"--a madcap companion in mayhem! Indeed if ‘laughter is the best medicine’ she had plenty of it.
Humor was always fresh in Ellen’s mind until the very end.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Anne McCammon.
Ellen is remembered with love by: Sister Mary Frey (and husband John); Children: Laura Moran, Dr. Kevin Moran (and wife, Dr. Gisele Urrutibeheity Moran), and Bridget Moran Wilson.
Her vibrant spirit lives on in her most adored grandchildren: Jamie Wilson and Gigi, Christian, Ander, Lucienne, and Laurent Moran.
