Earl Wayne Schultz Sr.
Earl Wayne Schultz, Sr., 72, died peacefully Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at his home in Pasadena following a long bout with heart failure.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Donna (Carter) Schultz; son Wayne and wife Noelle, son Mark and wife Casey, daughter Pamela Manuel and husband James; 7 grandchildren; Kayla Grau and husband Jared, Brian Schultz and wife Axa, Connor Manuel, Camden Schultz, Adyson Schultz, Sophia Manuel and Ella Schultz, and two great-grandchildren- Matthew Schultz and Zoey Schultz; sisters Myrtis Stephens and husband Doyal, sister Brenda Maynard and husband Larry, sister Janie Payton, brother S.M. Schultz, Jr. and wife Debbie and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janice Deel.
Born and raised in Pasadena, Texas, he was the son of S.M. and Juluia (Acker) Schultz. He graduated from Sam Rayburn High School and obtained a master’s in history from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.
Earl was a minister and a teacher. He preached at various Churches of Christ around Texas. He taught at San Jacinto College and at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at Rosharon, Texas. He was a dedicated Bible teacher. In his last years he and Donna were members of the Parkgate Community Church where he taught Bible classes.
Earl loved his family with all his heart. Nothing made him happier than having the family together to play games and laugh. He was a superb storyteller and loved to tell jokes. Besides his family and teaching, his other passion was saltwater fishing. He had innumerable good times on the water with his sons and friends.
Generous with his time and love, Earl was incredibly benevolent and helped countless family, friends, and even strangers who were experiencing hard times. He left footprints in the lives of many people.
Gone but not forgotten, Earl will forever hold a place in the hearts of those that knew him.
A memorial service will be held for Earl on November 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parkgate Community Church, 3715 Preston Road, Pasadena, Texas 77504.
