Desmond Benjamin

Desmond Lemel Benjamin was born in Galveston, TX on March 1, 1991.  Desmond was an all-around athlete playing Basketball and Football.  Desmond also participated in Track and Field, participating in the National Junior Olympics meet twice.  Desmond was a graduate of the La Marque High School Class of 2009.  Desmond never met a stranger.  Desmond was a loving son, brother and friend.  Uncle D Loves the kids.  Desmond truly had a heart too big for Earth.

Desmond was preceded in death by grandparents, Jean and Edward Benjamin, Sr. and uncle, Che White.

Desmond is survived by parents, Tracy and Edward Benjamin, Jr.; siblings, Courtney Lyons (Doris), Jasmine Benjamin (D’Andre), Brittany Mullins, Bryanna Benjamin (Keishe), Tramond Benjamin, Edward Benjamin III and Kris Che White; grandparents, Melo White and Larry Beyince, Sr.; nieces, Camille Lyons and Jaidyn Dynes; nephews, Courtney Lyons, Jr. and Taj Benjamin; aunts, Demeta Thompson (Charles) and Stacey Benjamin; uncle, Randall Beyince; godmother, Yolanda Caldwell; special friends, Vashon Kelly, Devin Johnson, Jamarcus Evans, Essence Randall, Dominique Jack and Krystal Strother and a host of relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Desmond’s life Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX 77591, (409) 986-9900.  All Memorials may be sent to the funeral home.
