Daniel Lee Knotts
Daniel Lee Knotts (79) passed away in the comfort of his own home in Santa Fe, TX under the end-of-life care of his daughters on Friday, July 19, 2019.
Danny moved to Texas in 1952 and attended Travis Elementary School in Galveston. As a child, he and Bobby Walker collected coins under the Pleasure Pier and chased the milk delivery truck. His uncle, Owen Knotts, taught him welding and carpentry.
Accomplishments include building his own home and achieving a 50-year honorary lifetime membership in Carpenter’s Local #551. Previous employers include Union Carbide, Monsanto, Falstaff Brewery, a nail factory, and the Merchant Marines.
Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet M. Knotts (Ketchum); his mother, Naomi I. Knotts (Jones); and his sister, Naomi Jeanine Miller (Knotts). He is survived by his children: Brenda D. Rezk and husband Charles W. Rezk; Pamela D. St. Joseph and husband Robert C. St. Joseph; and stepson Mitchel S. Ketchum, his wife Rebecca Ketchum, and daughter Kelly A. Ketchum; sisters: Judy Kenney, Rosalie Nolan, Miriam Allen, and Phyllis Flores; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Danny also leaves behind many friends at Roosters Orange Bar and Daryl's Place.
