Daniel Darrow Roscom Sr.
Daniel Darrow Roscom, Sr. passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at the age of 85. He was born in Davao City, Philippines on August 3, 1932 to Jerry Nicholas Roscom and Lillian Fillardo Roscom.
Dad is preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Milagros Luga Roscom. He is also preceded in death by his eldest brother, John and younger brother, Alexander.
Together, he and Mom raised seven children, five boys and two girls. He is survived by sons, Walter, Charles, Dan Jr., Michael and Sean; daughters, Lorraine and Marissa along with eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by daughters, Lily, Melody and Daniela; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Alice and brothers, Jules, Philip and Victor along with many other relatives, extended family and loving friends.
Dad spent his life traveling the globe, serving his country as a proud member of the United States Army, and later in the oilfield. He knew many languages and spoke them often to those he encountered, always making strangers feel comfortable and welcome.
He enjoyed reading, writing and watching old Westerns. But mostly he enjoyed telling stories of his life, growing up in the Philippines. Dad always had a story to tell. Now he will be sharing his stories in Heaven.
He will be deeply missed by all.
Your guests are invited to share in the Celebration of Life Visitation Services on 1-2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 with Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Carnes Funeral Home – Texas City, 3100 Gulf Freeway, 77591. Interment will be at Forest Park – East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
