Damon Everett Black
Damon Everett Black, 47, of Houston, Texas, transitioned from his earthly life on Thursday, December 15, 2016 in Houston, Texas. He was surrounded by family and close friends.
Damon was born February 9, 1969 in Galveston, Texas, to Ted D. Black, Sr. and Arabella Baugh Black. He graduated from Galveston Ball High School in 1988 and continued his education at Prairie View A & M and earned his Bachelor’s in Business from the University of Phoenix. Damon worked for Volunteers of America Texas at the time of his transition. He lived in Houston for over 20 years and was a faithful member of The Church Without Walls.
Damon was preceded in death by his father Ted D. Black, Sr., his mother Arabella Baugh Black and his grandparents.
Damon is survived his Beloved, Jacqueline Elizabeth Hull-Black; sons, Jerrod Everett Black and Dji Gabriel Black; brother, Marlon Sherrod Black (Lucrecia); sister, Valerie Gardner-Smith (Winslor); sister, Andrea D. Gardner; sister, Tina Dionne Black-Uhlich; brother, Ted D. Black, Jr; brother, Terence Black; nieces, Brittany A. Collins, Martina Black, Lilianna Black, Danielle N. Smith; nephews, Dorrian Johnson, Anthony Black, Harold B. Collins, Jr., Tobias Black and Raymond White; devoted friend, Felicia M. Brooks. In addition; other survivors are aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. and will include Reflection Time from 5:00 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City Texas, 77591.
