Daisy May Ricketts
Daisy May Ricketts, age 67, of Huffman, Texas, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Daisy died at her residence in Huffman.
Daisy was born July 17, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Charlie Calvin Crowe and Bertha Bernadine Parks Crowe. She was raised in the Heights area of Houston as a child. In her young adult life, Daisy worked at The Rice Company and then The American Can Company, both in Houston. Daisy later became a small business owner and started her own wrecker service, Dee’s Pink Panther Wrecker, where the wreckers were pink. When asked about her mother driving a wrecker, her daughter stated “she was bad to the bone”. Daisy fell in love with her husband at the age of 15, and eventually ended up marrying him. After driving the wrecker for many years, Daisy became a homemaker in Huffman.
Preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Bertha Crowe; brothers Billy Joe Crowe, Ronnie Crowe, Leroy Crowe, and Allen Lee Crowe; sisters Lena Osborne and Linda Fay Crowe; Daisy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Larry Ricketts of Huffman; her daughter Denise Ricketts of Houston; son Larry Ricketts of Beaumont; brother Calvin Crowe of La Marque; grandsons Daniel Berry of Sulfer Springs and Deric Fletcher of Sulfer Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held 12:30PM – 2:30PM Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Carnes Funeral Home, 1102 Indiana, South Houston, Texas, 77587. Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Houston National Cemetery.
