Col. Charles Chris Cadenhead

Col. (Ret.) Charles Chris Cadenhead, born October 28, 1939, passed away August 29, 2018 in League City, Texas. He was the husband of Virginia Kay Cadenhead.   They shared 55 years of a loving marriage together.

Born in Amarillo TX, he was the son of Herbert Cadenhead and Ruby Cadenhead Williams. He graduated high school from Amarillo High, College from New Mexico State University and earned his Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration from The University of Alabama.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 30 great years. 

He loved his NMSU Football family, his USAF family, playing golf, and woodworking. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, his even temperament, his loyalty to friends and family and his love for his wife.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Chad Cadenhead; brother-in-law, Dick Smith; sister-in-law, Sandra Armstrong and nephew, Ken Smith.

He is survived by wife, Virginia Kay Cadenhead; son, Rob Clark Cadenhead and wife Paige: granddaughters Camryn Chae and Carli Cay Cadenhead; daughter, Staci Cadenhead; brother, Curtis Cadenhead; sister-in-law, Manda Cadenhead, brother-in-law Gene Armstrong, sister in-law Barbara Smith; nieces and nephews, Cody Cadenhead, Casie Cadenhead Gidcumb, Wanless Armstrong; Starla Armstrong Russell and Russ, Randy and Scott Smith.

Guests are invited to share in the 10:00 a.m. Celebration of Life Visitation with 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services on Friday, September 14th, 2018 at Porter Loring Funeral Home, 1101 McCullough Ave, Texas 78212. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors provided by The United States Air Force Honor Guard.

 The family request memorial donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
