Charles Denson

Charles “Chuck” Jefferson Denson was born on December 10, 1927 in Meridian, Mississippi to J Lee and Mamie Ward Denson and had four siblings, Jane Covington, Corrine King, Curtis Lee Denson and Rose Nell Kauder.  Chuck attended Baylor College where he met and married Juanita Faye Denton on May 26, 1949 who passed away on May 2, 2011.  Chuck died on November 11, 2013 in Katy Texas with family by his side.  He is survived by his four children John Denson, Laura Smith, Ellen Prejean, Ann Studwell; six grandchildren Heather Sturrock, Misty Bradshaw, Jennifer Bradshaw, Ron Smith, Stephanie Denson and Erica Denson; three great grandchildren, Ava Sturrock, Zoe Sturrock and Sarah Smith along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Chuck served in the army during the WWII effort and worked at American National Insurance Company as a Systems Analyst from the 1950’s until he retired in 1993. Chuck and Nita loved to travel and had many trips to Mexico, London, Italy, Switzerland and Alaska.  Chuck had a beautiful voice and participated in many choirs from Central Methodist in Galveston during the 1950’s up until 2001 With Aldersgate PRAISE  Chuck was huge influence in his community launching HIS Interfaith Ministry in Santa Fe and received the AARP Andrus Award for community service.  He was an avid photographer and will be missed.
