Charles Earl Hamilton, 66, passed away on November 8, 2012. Born in Philadelphia on October 20, 1946, he grew up in Norristown, PA. He moved to Spring, TX in 1980 for a job transfer and liked it so much he decided to stay. He was an animal lover, an avid fisherman and hunter, and a volunteer in NAM’s Meals on Wheels program and in Interfaith Hospitality Network. An outgoing, friendly person who was generous and kind, he loved to laugh with friends and family.
Charlie was a financial analyst and manager at Sperry UNIVAC/Unisys, a Certified Financial Planner at IDS/American Express Financial Services and HPD Pension System. He also worked at Exxon Mobil and served in the US Air Force in Pakistan and in Texas, where he met his wife, Jane.
Preceded in death by parents Charles D. and Dorothy Snyder Hamilton, he is survived by wife Jane, daughter Laurie Hamilton, son Jeff Hamilton and wife Kirstin Short, grandson Beckett Hamilton, brother Howard (Bud) Hamilton and wife Ann, niece Jennifer Stokes, and cousins Wayne Snyder and Carin Talone and their families.
A local memorial service celebrating his life is planned for Saturday, November 17, at 2 p.m. at Klein United Methodist Church, 5920 FM 2920, Spring, TX.
A second memorial service, in Pennsylvania, is planned for Saturday, December 1 in the chapel at George Washington Memorial Park at Stenton Avenue and Butler Pike, beginning at 11 a.m.
