Charles Dave Guilbeaux
Charles Dave Guilbeaux passed away May 11, 2017 in Rosenberg,Texas.
Charles was born on February 14, 1927 to Claude and Celima Broussard Guilbeaux in Abbeville, Louisiana and had three brothers : Lee Roy, Preston and Paul. Throughout his life he was fondly referred to as Charlie. He served his country in the U.S Army as a Pvt during WW ll.
On August 18,1948, he married Elinor Lucille Maack and had 6 children. They were married for 34 years until her death on September 6, 1982.
Charles worked for Houston Lighting & Power Company for 43 years, until his retirement in 1987.
On December 8, 1989 he married Geneva Webb. Together they took road trips all over the United States and Canada. He enjoyed classic movies, talking politics, the Houston Astros and spending time with family and friends. They were married for 26 years until her death on March 28, 2016.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, wives, son-in-law, Larry Macha and step son, Gary Webb.
Charles is survived by his son, Paul Guilbeaux , daughters; Margaret Macha , Mary Brenner and husband, Robert , Linda Broussard and husband, Bryan, Diana Engelhardt and husband Garrett, Nancy Lee and husband Ron. step daughter: Pam Driggers and husband David.
Grandchildren, Jason Brenner and wife Tracy, Ross Macha and wife Jami , Sarah Macha, Josh Brenner and wife Angie, Amanda Bryant and husband Austin, Kyle Broussard and Megan Lee. step grandchildren: Matthew Driggers, Jaime Thomas and husband, Billy.
Great grandchildren; Roby Brenner, Jack and Grace Macha, Annabelle and Benjamin Bryant, and Bobby Brenner. Great step granddaughter, Annabelle Thomas. Also, sister-in-law, Mary Maack and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles donated his body to the UT Health Willed Body Program in Houston,Texas. There will only be a private family celebration of his life. Memorials can be given to the charity of your choice.
