Bobbie M Hardesty
Bobbie M Hardesty passed away on September 9, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Bobbie was born February 19, 1925 in Clinton, South Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willfred Hardesty; and grandson, Mark Travis Miller.
She is survived by son, Michael Hardesty and wife Auda; daughter, Sherry Miller and husband Barney; grandson, Jim Langham; granddaughter, Misty Langham; and great grandchildren, Eva Langham and Fioma Langham.
Bbbie was a truly wonderful person. She was from the generation that did whatever was necessary to get along in life. Bobbie never had an unkind word about anybody. She was a founding member of a group call "The Martians." They called her "Sparky" because she was usually the spark that set off many an interesting and often heated conversation about whatever topic was at hand.
Bobbie was also one of the most capable people ever known. Any job she took taught her something. For a number of years she worked in a hardware store in the electrical department, and she was already in her seventies when she started there. Bobbie even had a "personal trade;" that is, people who came into the store and asked for her to serve them. That even included professional electrical contractors! Get this image in your mind...a little old lady telling professional electrical contractors how to wire a job according to code!
The visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. with the funeral service starting at 3:00 P.M. in Carnes Funeral Home, 1102 Indiana Street, South Houston, Texas 77587. The burial will take place at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
