Blanche Lee Browne
Ms. Blanche Lee Browne was born on February 18, 1925 in Edna, Texas to Walter Brown and Gracie Jones. She attended public schools in Jackson County. She passed away at her residence on May 14th, 2013 in Dickinson, TX.
Blanche moved to San Antonio TX and worked there as a beautician on Randolph Air Force base for several years. Blanche and her mother Gracie Jones moved to Galveston County to be near family. Blanche remained in Galveston County for the remainder of her life. She also worked at UTMB for many years and also worked with the Galveston County Seniors Program.
She also volunteered in the school system to fulfill her love for children. Blanche was excellent with children and worked in several area schools as a teacher’s aide. Blanche was instrumental in the lives many, also guiding and mentoring several of her younger cousins. She was looked up to as a role model, teacher, surrogate grandmother and aunt. These were positions from which she could never retire.
Blanche will never be forgotten by her family. The memories she helped to create will last a lifetime. She was loyal, loving and fiercely protective of her family.
The family will greet visitors Friday, May 17, 2013 from 11-12:00 pm with Memorial Services to follow at 12:00 pm at Carnes Funeral Home – Texas City. 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City 409-986-9900.
