Betty Nichols

Betty Pearl King Nichols passed away, Monday, January 29, 2018 in Friendswood, Texas, with her family at her bedside.  She was born in, Goose Creek, (Baytown) Texas, on May 3, 1936 to Oxsheer & Marceline King. She worked in the medical field, where she was the President of a Cancer Registry in Brevard County, Florida in the early 70’s; managed a physician’s office in New York and finally worked performing transcribing for Dr. Alex Lechin and Dr. Dean Nasser for several years at her home and office.

She will join her parents, grandparents, Benjamin Ivy Boren and Betty Delilah; husband, Clark M. Nichols and oldest son, Blane V. Nichols, in eternity.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Lynne Hern and husband David, of Friendswood; sons, Kevin L. Nichols and wife Linda of League City and Clay M. Nichols and wife Lisa of Alvin; daughter in law, Jannette Nichols of League City and cousin, Becky Johnson, of Missouri City.  Her Grandchildren: (8) Allyssa Nichols, Chelsea Gralnik and husband Aaron, Brooke Hern, Matthew Nichols and wife Bridgette, Shaun Nichols, Clifton Nichols, Rainell Ferrell and Dave Bushell, Casandra Ferrell and Phil Hoyland; and her Great Grandchildren: 6 with 2 on the way.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 6:30 pm; with a visitation beginning at 5:00pm in the Chapel of Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City.  She will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, TX on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10:00am.  Under the direction of David H. Hern and the caring staff of Carnes Funeral Home.
