Bettie Crawford

Bettie Joan Crawford, 87, passed away on January 3, 2021 at her residence.  Born in Jellico, Tennessee; she was the daughter of Horace and Edith Crawford.  For many years, Bettie worked as an office manager at several places with her career wrapping up at Beaumont Anesthesia.

She was a member of Southern Star and her love and faith in God was unshakable.  Some of her favorite things included family  visits and celebrations, casino trips, and sitting on a porch soaking up the sunshine and warm breeze with a cold bowl of watermelon.  She will always be remembered for her amazing smile and ability to make everyone around her feel special.  She was the keeper of many’s secrets and the best advice giver and loved us all with everything she had.  She knew how to make a $2 bill worth a million bucks by adding her sweet little notes for birthdays.

Bettie is survived by her sisters; Faye Saranthus and Brenda Moser and husband Noel, and her brother Fred Crawford and wife Betty Jo; her 5 children and spouses; Renee Barnes and husband Don, Jay Kimmons and wife Teresa, Brenda Kimmons, Edith Ordoyne and husband Joe, and Marty Kimmons and wife Jennifer; her 20 grandchildren (and many special spouses), 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Horace and Edith Crawford; her brother, Bob Crawford; her son, Scott Kimmons and her great grandson, Zayne Paszkiewicz.

At Bettie’s request, her body will be donated to Baylor College of Medicine for the advancement of science. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.  Some charities special to her heart were:  The Star Legacy Foundation and Make a Wish Foundation.
