Audrey Mae Johnson
Audrey Mae Johnson, 81, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at her home in League City, Texas. Audrey was the wife of Alex Johnson, Sr. They shared 49 beautiful years of marriage together.
Born in Kaplan, Louisiana, Audrey was the daughter of Noah Francis and Edith Hebert.
Audrey was a faithful employee at UTMB in Galveston, Texas for over 20 years. Audrey will be most remembered for her kindness and approachability, as she willingly offered guidance and encouragement with a smile to all who knew her. Audrey was a loving mother and wife.
Audrey was a lifelong learner who loved gardening, sewing and cooking and she inspired her children to live their lives to the fullest by continuing their education.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Alex Johnson, Sr.; six children, Gaylynn Marie Moore-Collins, Margie Ann Ricks, Raphael Moore, Jr., Yolanda Annette Shanks, Miatha Rose Johnson, and Alex Johnson, Jr.
Audrey Johnson is also survived by eight grandchildren; Brandon Joel Derbigny and his wife, Lakeshia Derbigny, Jaël Louise Ricks-Word and her husband, James Word, Brandi Nicole Eugenio, Brittani Mae Davis and her husband, Jerome Davis, John L. Ricks IV and Mychal Alyse Ricks Raphael Moore III, Justin Jermaine Moore; seven great-grandchildren, MaKayla Gooden-Derbigny, Malaijah Derbigny, Kailee Davis, Brandon Derbigny, Jr., Angel Eugenio, Amara Eugenio, and Zoii Davis.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Francis and the Edith Hebert; all siblings, six brothers, Lloyd, Noah (Joe) Jr., Wallace, Alex, John and Audley Francis; four sisters, Nora Williams, Edith Williams, Mary Harmon and Mary Ruth Francis Martin.
Her legacy and vitality of life will live in the hearts and minds of everyone who crossed her path on this journey!
