Arthur Aguirre Sr.
Mr. Arthur Aguirre Sr. passed from this life on December 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Arthur Aguirre was born on April 1, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised in Galveston, Texas by Harry Trevino and Frank and Carlotta Aguilar. Arthur worked for over a quarter of a century for Humana Hospital of Clear Lake in the maintenance department, he owned his own service station in Galveston Enco Products Service Station in Galveston and was a licensed diesel mechanic.
He always put his family before himself and welcomed every visitor at his home with “If you don’t make yourself at home that’s your fault!” Arthur loved working on cars, tinkering in the garage for hours taking things apart and putting them back together while he listened to his music. He also enjoyed watching action movies and westerns. He loved playing cards but when you least expected it he had a trick up his sleeve that would win the game! He was an incredible dancer, him and his wife Anita could take on the best couple on any dancefloor! Arthur loved taking his family every Spring to San Antonio for the Fiesta Celebration. He also loved sharing stories about his upbringing in Chicago. He was an avid collector of eagle memorabilia representing his patriotism and would occasionally throw in a “Semper Fi”. Finally, he would always remind you to “Never let a day go by without learning something new”.
