Annie Ayala

Annie Hapshie Ayala, 93, of Friendswood, TX, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter by her side, November 1, 2016 in Friendswood, TX.

Annie was born February 21, 1923 in San Antonio, TX, the eighth child and fourth daughter of Margaret “Maggie” Emmett Hapshie and Louis Moses Hapshie.

Her life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: son, Amos Ayala, III and wife Iris Anderson of Carpentersville, IL; daughter, Margaret Vella and husband Joseph L. Vella of Friendswood, TX; son, Richard L. Ayala and wife Jeanne Ayala of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Suzanne San Marco and husband, Joseph San Marco of Kingwood, TX. Grandchildren: Tiffany O’Malley and husband James O’Malley, Amos Ayala IV and wife, Kimberly           Chisham-Ayala, Bryce Vella and wife Robin Melanson-Vella,  Jodi Vella, Justin Ayala and wife Lisa Thienpont-Ayala, Jeffrey Ayala and wife Lizzy Goodwin-Ayala, Amanda Niño and husband Joseph Niño, Michael San Marco and wife Bridgette Adams-San Marco, and Laura San Marco. Great-grandchildren:  Garrett and Cooper Vella, Sara and Colin O’Malley, Daylin and Kenna Ayala,  Ashleigh and Dane Giannukos, JD Ayala, Mallory Goodwin, Ivy Ayala, and Jordana Niño.

Annie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her passions were cooking and gardening. As a result of her loving personality and kind spirit, she was loved by many. Her faith in God was as beautiful as the roses that she loved and her influence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Amos Ayala, Jr.

Services will be held Saturday, November 12th, 2016 at 3:00pm at:
