Anna Faust Lagattuta
Anna F. Lagattuta was born in Ponchatoula, Louisiana on July 31, 1923. She passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at the age of 92 years at home. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe H. (Lag) Lagattuta, parents Alice L. Jackson and Wesley H. Faust. Brothers Wesley H. Faust, Charles E. Faust. Sisters Hettie V. Dowdy, Jimmie Kovacevich.
Anna is survived by her son, John F. Chapman and wife Chris Penning, Ingelside On the Bay, Texas. Daughter, Joe Ann Lagattuta, Texas City, Texas. Grandchildren, Tamara Fletcher (Scott), Randy Chapman, Jay Chapman. Great granddaughter, Randi Breanna Skinner, (Seth). Great great granddaughter Elizabeth Opal (Lizzie) Skinner.
Anna was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, teacher in the Tangipahoa Parish School System in Louisiana. After over 20 years of teaching, she retired and moved to Texas City, Texas. She worked for Dorothy F. Merritt, MD. for 19 years.
She loved crocheting, reading, and her Catholicism.
A visitation will be held at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City, 3100 Gulf Freeway, beginning at 6:00pm on January 27th. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home beginning at 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family who wish can send donations to A-Med Hospice, Texas City, or donate a book to Moore Memorial Library, Texas City, Texas. The family would like to express appreciation for the care given by Mainland Medical Center, Cornerstone Hospital, and A-Med Hospice.
