Anita Luna Zamora
Anita “Annie” Luna Zamora, 72, beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, mother, and wife was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 2, 2013.
Annie was born in Alvin Texas on June 5, 1941 to Amador Luna and Emilia Sanchez Luna. She lived in Alvin her whole life and spent most of her time volunteering for the community. She was part of the “Are You O.K.?” program, where she made regular phone calls to stay in touch with the elderly, handicapped and homebound citizen in our community. She also was part of the Senior Citizen Center, where she spent time making friends and helping others. She will be truly missed by family, friends and all the people that she touched throughout the community.
She is preceded in death and happily reunited with her husband, Luis C. Zamora; son, Johnny Ray Luna; father, Amador Luna; mother, Emilia Sanchez Luna; brothers, Videl C. Sanchez, Lewis C. Sanchez of Alvin, Ralph Luna, and Juaquine Luna of California; sisters, Mercedez Cruz, Solidad Luna Sanchez, Rachel Martinez, Virginia S. Huerta of Alvin and Esparanza Luna Callicott of Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her great grand-daughters, Becky Ann Bethscheider and husband Brian, Angelica Schnelle and husband Aaron; great grandchildren: Gabriel Bethscheider, Genevieve Bethscheider, Dayanera Schnelle, Merrick Schnelle, Logan Schnelle; sisters, Mary E. Hosea of Missouri City, Beatrice Luna, Julia Arevelo, Alice Arevelo of Alvin and Mary Gonzales of Galveston and numerous nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
Memorial Services will be held 10 am, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Alvin located at 611 W. South Street, Alvin, Texas 77511 with Rev. Linda Snow officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Alvin Senior Center in Alvin.
