Andrew Brian Wiesen

Andrew Wiesen

Andrew Brian Wiesen was born February 3rd, 1998 in Nassau Bay, Texas at St. John’s Hospital. He passed away June 28th, 2020 at 22 years old. He graduated Cum Laude from Clear Creek High School in 2016, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Houston in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Minor in Mathematics.

Andy was a natural athlete excelling in every sport he attempted. He was the wide receiver for Clear Creek High School’s Varsity football team, and Center Field for the Varsity baseball team. Andy was an active member of Clear Creek Community Church where he was baptized and went on to baptize his nephew Christopher as well. He participated in many church events including two mission trips to Haiti.

In addition to graduating at the top of his class in both high school and college, Andy had numerous academic achievements including scholarships awarded from the League City Masonic Lodge, The Clear Creek Football Booster Club, and The University of Houston.

Andy was a hard worker with strong ambitions. He was determined to earn his bachelor’s degree in 3 years. He often worked 2 – 3 jobs to pay tuition including positions as a TA and lab assistant while studying and acing exams. Andy was always smiling, and he loved to make people laugh with his sharp wit and silly sense of humor. Andy genuinely enjoyed helping others whether it was out in the community or within his family, and never expected anything in return. Andy was a doting uncle who lovingly referred to his nieces and nephews as his “little smellies”. They returned the sentiment by referring to him as “Uncle Smelly” and “Uncle Hairy”. Andy had a passion for Physics admiring the works of Richard Feynman and Stephen Hawking. When Andy wasn’t working, doing CrossFit, or trying to outsmart his sisters, he could be found juggling, doing handstands, and playing with his kittens Butters, and Rafiki.

He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Marcill Gardner, Grandfather Walter Clarence Gardner, and Grandfather Emmett G. Wiesen. He is survived by his Mother Carol Gardner Wiesen and Fiancé Kirk Leger, his Father Emmett Brian Wiesen, Step-Mother Marta Wiesen, his grandmother Dixie Charrier Wiesen, his 7 siblings Carolyn Wiesen, Barbara “B” Wiesen, Allison Wiesen Allen, Deborah Wiesen, Elissa Wiesen, Faith Wiesen, John Paul Wiesen, and two step-siblings Carolina Cuesta and her husband Enuar Hernandez, and Ricardo Cuesta, his 6 nieces and nephews (his little smellies) Jacob Allen, Christopher “JaQuavis” Esther, Aubrey Allen, Avery Allen, Norah Spaulding, and Owen Spaulding.
