Andres Perez-Chaumont Sr.

Andres (Andy) Perez-Chaumont Sr.,68, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on Monday, March 28, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.  He was born in Havana, Cuba on November 18,1947, the first of four children born to Angela Lopez-Ona y Perez-Chaumont and Andres Perez-Chaumont.

Due to political crisis, he and his family were forced to flee Cuba in 1959, but they found a welcoming home in Houston, Texas.  Andy attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory and was a member of the first graduating class in 1965.  Then, he served inthe United States Army.  After his service was completed, Andywent on to attend college at the University of Texas in Austin where he earned his bachelor’s degree and his doctor of jurisprudence.  Andy owned and operated a successful law practice for over 40 years.  Well respected amongst his peers, he was a most effective litigator.

Andy will be remembered as a loving father, beloved sibling, loyal friend and a generous soul.  He is survived by his two sons, Andres (Andy) Perez-Chaumont Jr. and Alexander Perez-Chaumont, granddaughter Riley Perez-Chaumont, sister Maria (Ina) Klein and her husband, Jay, brother Armando Perez-Chaumont and his wife, Treva, and brother Jose Perez-Chaumont and his wife, Cindy.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

A rosary and funeral mass will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 12627 W. Bellfort Ave., Sugar Land, TX 77478 on April 18, 2016 at 10:30A.M. and 11:00 A.M., respectively, which will be followed by a graveside service at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Frwy., Houston, TX 77079.  A reception/celebration will follow the graveside service.
