Alvin Saenz

Alvin Noel Saenz passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the age of 52, in Alvin, Texas.  He was the husband of Linda Brem Saenz.  They shared 23 years of marriage together.  He was the father of two loving sons, Dawsen Noel Saenz and Logen Nicolas Saenz.

Alvin is survived by his father, Jose Ismael Saenz, Sr.; his brothers, Jose Antonio Suazo and Jose Ismael Saenz, Jr. and Jose Ismael’s daughter, Thelya; sister, Lorena Saenz Matherne (Gary) and Lorena’s sons, Christopher and Kenneth and Lorena’s daughter, Gabriela.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Angela Saenz and his sister, Maria Jose Saenz.

Alvin was born in Managua, Nicaragua and graduated from Instituto Pedagogico De La Salle in Managua.  He came to the United States in 1980.  After graduating from the University of New Orleans with a degree in Political Science, Alvin attended and graduated from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. 

With his adventurous spirit, Alvin decided to open his own law practice after passing the Texas State Bar in 1993.  He began his practice in Galveston County, Texas mainly as a family law, CPS and criminal attorney.  Through the years, Alvin expanded his practice to the areas of Personal Injury and Immigration Law.  Alvin worked in Liberty, Chambers, Galveston, Harris and Brazoria Counties.

He was a longtime resident of League City, Texas.  Alvin was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, as well as a member of the Galveston County Bar Association.  Alvin’s family and friends will remember him as someone who could bring a smile to anyone’s face when he walked in a room.  He will especially be remembered as a great Immigration attorney, as well as an avid cyclist.  He enjoyed riding his beloved “Gray Ghost” (the Orbea) with the Plebeian Horde Cycling Group and with his friends at Sun & Ski.

The funeral service/memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 8:00 PM at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway (Exit 15), Texas City, Texas  77591.  The visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the Galveston County Bar Association has set up a Go Fund Me account to help the Saenz family.
