Adelita Summerlin

Adelita “Addie” Summerlin, 70, beloved mother, grandmother (aka Tita and Oma), sister and friend to many, passed away peacefully at her home in Deer Park, Tx on December 26, 2019. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born on November 15, 1949 at home in Dinero, Texas at Reeves Brown Ranch.

Addie retired as an Administrative Assistant for the purchasing department at OxyVinyls, LP after 22 years. She will be remembered as always happy and having a smile that would light up the room. She was ready to help anyone at any time, friend or stranger. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved to dance, and her favorite things to do were playing with her granddaughter Emileigh and attending Cowboys games with her sister Lois. Her positive attitude and heart of gold led her to be loved by everyone she met.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Feliciana Flores, former spouses James "Micheal" Brest and Joseph Summerlin. She is survived by her children Michelle Landers and Brian Goss, and their father, Bob Goss, stepchildren Jennifer Summerlin Henneke and spouse Ryan, and Melissa Summerlin. Sisters Dolores Gigee, Eloisa Contreras and brother Reynaldo Flores, mother in law Jean Friesz, grandchildren Emileigh Landers, Jonathan Summerlin, Connor Neil and Haley, Mabry and Anthony Sloterdijk as well as numerous loving  nieces, nephews and cousins.

We are in deep appreciation to Cindy Plascencia, Addie’s stem cell transplant donor, who along with the grace of God extended Addie’s life an additional 2 years. The gracious services provided by Tradition’s Heath allowed our final time with Addie to be at home in comfort and peace.

Her celebration of life service will be officiated by Father Tony Pascaretta on Saturday, Jan 4th 2020 at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Tx 77591. Visitation will be from 12 pm to 1 pm and celebration from 1 pm to 2 pm. The family will host a reception immediately following at La Brisa, 501 N Wesley Dr, League City, TX 77573.

We welcome you to wear your Dallas Cowboys attire to the service. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to your charity of choice.
