Abelardo Rene Salinas
Abelardo Rene Salinas (60) of 805 Lilac, LaMarque, TX, passed away peacefully at his home on August 15, 2013 to his join his parents and other loved ones in Heaven (his new home) to be with Our Loving God. A dedicated mass and private memorial will be made in his honor.
Abelardo Rene Salinas was born October 12, 1952 in Galveston, Texas to Luciano and Francisca Salinas. He was the sixth of twelve children. Rene was raised and educated in Galveston, graduating from Ball High School 1971. After graduation, he entered the Army where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany as a Clerk Typist in January 1972 and later discharged in January 1975. He was employed as a pipefitter/welder in Galveston 1979-2000. He also worked as a Trolley Driver in Galveston. He dedicated his parents’ last years taking care of them at home in LaMarque. His last years, he was employed at the Fish Place in LaMarque.
Rene Enjoyed all sports especially surfing. He loved reading the Bible always quoting, “God has a Plan for all of us!” His consistent positive attitude always made us feel special.
Abelardo Rene Salinas was survived by his five brothers and six sisters: Nicanor Salinas, Luciano Salinas Jr., Jose Salinas, Jesse Salinas, David Salinas, Englantina Neira, Elvira Bermudes, Elisa Salinas Coronado, Francesca Soto, Amelia Ramos, and Carmen Andujar. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed and we pray that he will finally rest in peace.
